Verifying Your Coinbase Account with Mastercard

You can now instantly buy bitcoin from Coinbase by adding a Mastercard credit card as a backup payment method to your verified bank account.

Previously, the only way to buy bitcoin instantly from Coinbase was by verifying a bank account and Visa credit card or by funding a USD wallet. Today’s addition of Mastercard provides an alternative backup payment method so more consumers can instantly buy from Coinbase.
